Since the creation of video games in the late 60's, there have been many things that have impressed people, interesting peripherals, powerful consoles, but there is something that has marked multiple generations over the years and these have been games that have been developed for different entertainment systems.

In a progressive way and thanks to technology, video games were taking a path full of varieties that no one could imagine. Those who played with a Magnavox Odyssey, which was the first video game console that used different templates on a TV to form a game concept, never thought about what that industry would become.

But where videogames really had a relevant role was at the end of the 80s, the war between Nintendo and Sega was one of the most intense battles to see who was the best company, this benefited all the users a lot because we constantly saw innovations.

In the 8, 16, 32 and 64 bits were developed games that would leave an indelible mark, so much that almost no video game would surpass in quality and innovation the foundations formed in those years, in addition, many of those creations served as an example to develop video games that we know today, for example, Street Fighter 2.

It automatically became a success because it was a product that many people felt was a gamer.

I don't know, I think retrogaming has been big for a long, long time. The first time I noticed was in the mid 1990s.  That's when MAME and other emulators first came along. I remember auctions hosted via newsgroups for vintage games for the Atari 2600, Atari 8-bit computers, Commodore 64, etc. before eBay was even around. I suppose retrogaming is becoming more mainstream all the time but it was a subculture (for lack of a better word) that started decades ago.
