'Keep Pushing Forward' - A Poem.

My weekly entry for the #poemchallenge contest -  inspired by my recent experience of ill-health.

The day is young 
The night shall end,
Keep pushing forward
In time he shall commend.

The depth of man
The pulsing of his heart,
The journey of his soul
Skyward it shall depart.

A global ancestral lobotomy
Big pharma says healthy... it must be!
Only interested in the money
A fabricated man-made cacophony.

The Western world pays to heal,
Chinese tradition only if you are healed.
A society dependent on pills,
'It's all ok I'm up to date with my bills.'

In this fast paced world of wealth
A frequent after-thought is our state of health,
We only get one body,
May we preserve it through taming our folly.
