This image was taken a couple of days ago and yes, I agree with you, it looks like a pretty decent spring day in Adelaide, Australia; A blue sky interspersed with white puffy clouds, a temperature around the low 20's and plenty of fresh air, even in the heart of the city. 

I took this image in Victoria Square, so-named in 1837 after Princess Victoria, heir to the throne back in England. Only a month or so after the naming she was to ascend to the throne when the King died. The fountain you see in the centre of shot is the *Three Rivers Fountain* designed by John Dowie which was built to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's visit in  1968. It's an open space in the city and one of several areas that offers a relaxing and green space to enjoy.

I've been on jury service lately and so have been spending a lot of time in and around the court district which surrounds the southern end of Victoria Square. I've tried to get outside as often as possible as the courts can be a little stuffy and confining. They're not small, just emotionally confining I suppose I mean. The buildings you see from left, ahead and at right of the shot are some of the court buildings, some old and some new. 

I had grabbed some lunch and headed across the road to eat,  get some fresh air and watch the world go by to clear my head. It was quite relaxing despite the sound of cars, buses and trams passing by believe it or not. You can see a tram to the left of shot actually. You'd think it would be noisy but it isn't.

Sitting there made me think about the importance of *resetting* ones mindset, attitude or simply resetting in general. We live in a demanding world with time-frames and deadlines, financial commitments, social and emotional commitments which all demanding our attention; It's almost information overload with all the external stimuli we can access...But what about us?; The person within? I was thinking about these things during the extended recess from the courts and decided to do some *grounding*, or *earthing* as some people know it. 

The process of grounding involves getting outside, removing footware including socks and placing one's bare feet on some grass or earth, walking around and the like. I believe it works with hands as well. I think there are other ways, but this is the one I know. It's supposed to make you feel better...And it actually does! Walking around on the grass made me feel more peaceful within, calmer and more relaxed. I would go as far as saying less stressed.  

**I've read that regular grounding can bring health benefits but I'm not sure on the truth of the matter. For me *feeling* better is good enough.**

So, there's me walking around barefoot in the courts-district of Adelaide, wearing a suit and munching on my lunch...You'd think I'd look out of place right? Wrong! Seriously I think I saw somewhere around 10-15 others doing the same thing. We'd all be wandering around our own little spot and if our paths crossed flash a knowing smile or understanding nod. It was pretty funny actually. The thing is though, we were all smiling and looking pretty pleased with ourselves! 

After about 30 minutes or so I put my boots back on and headed back to court feeling relaxed, refreshed and pretty pleased with my decision to do the grounding. 

As someone who works in an office I don't often get the time to do this sort of thing usually however I'm going to make more of an effort I think. It felt really nice to do so and the feeling endured throughout the afternoon. By the end of the day I felt a little flat again but that's always going to be the case considering the nature of what I'm currently doing I guess. 

I get out of the city often and spend a lot of time in the outback or remote areas and feel great when I'm out there but I was amazed at how I could get such a great feeling in the centre of the city through grounding; A feeling similar to being away from the city in some remote country area.
