Crypto, silver...Crypto, silver...Crypto, silver...Two things I've thought about for a while now, certainly a lot more since starting on Steemit. I'm no different to many I guess, although my knowledge is nowhere nearly as vast as some of you, and I only possess a very modest stash of crypto and stack of silver. Still, it's mine and I'm proud of it, especially the crypto as I've blogged on Steemit for it. I'm happy with my little stack of silver too though and I get enjoyment from it including the enjoyment of gifting it to my brothers which makes me feel good. I also love adding to it, which I did yesterday. 

You can see my latest addition propped up below. Now, as the title suggests, it's not your typical silver coin; It's different. You see, the new coin is bigger. A lot bigger...And heavier. And I love it. No, seriously, I love it! More than is healthy probably. 😆

The coin was minted by the Perth Mint here in Australia and I purchased it, brand new, from a local precious-metals reseller here in Adelaide. They're pretty good to be honest and can access anything around the world. They even drop it to my office for me. Personally. This is a nice touch I think. 

The coin has some great detail with the kookaburra and the Queen on the reverse being depicted really well. I think it's nicer as there's a lot more surface area for them to work with. Below you can see both sides of the coin photographed. You can also see it's a 10oz coin with the *legal tender* amount being $10.

Here I've photographed the **10oz kookaburra coin** side by side with a **1oz kookaburra coin**, also from the Perth Mint. You can see the size difference in diameter and thickness quite clearly. I have to say, once I felt the 10oz coin in my hand it sort of makes the 1oz version pale into insignificance. Still, I love all silver so I'll not discriminate.

A few of my work colleagues, the ones I recently got into stacking, all bought coins yesterday as well. We purchased my 10oz coin and another 20 1oz coins all up. It's sort of exciting because I get to add to my stack and do it together with this group of work colleagues who, in fact, are more friends than colleagues I suppose. We all actively save here and there, have made small changes in our weekly routines, to have the ability to squirrel some cash away each week permitting us to buy some silver every so often. Some go without their second daily coffee, others bring their lunch to work more often and yet others have adjusted their *want-spending* in other areas to have the ability to buy regular silver. It's pretty cool to have been the influence for them to do this as they are actively saving money they would otherwise spend with very little return. This way they get to see their efforts materialise in silver. 

I received a great deal of satisfaction dropping this one into my pirate treasure-chest last night after work and whilst I haven't unlocked it today for a sneak peak (yet) I *really* want to! It's a super-nice coin to have and with its 7.5cm (2.95 inch) diameter and 10oz weight it feels so nice in the palm. *I know, I shouldn't love it so much but I do*. I plan to get 2 more, at least, as I have two niece's and one nephew so they'll end up with them when I am gone and I want them to have at least one each. Hmm, maybe I'll end up with nine so they can have three each? Anyway, they'll have to wait because I'm not going anywhere for a while yet.
