<html> <p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/HuyaBg1.png" width="2315" height="1456"/></p> <blockquote>"Don't forget you'll always have friends here on Earth!"</blockquote> <p><strong>-A Human Protector (Starbound)</strong></p> <p><br></p> <p>It was hard for me to decide which one to take between Terraria and Starbound but I finally decided to go with Starbound because I heard this one have story in it while Terraria is more like Minecraft. </p> <p>The human character customization is awesome but I see another race that looked more interesting to play as. I'm playing as a Glitch, hoping I can get some steampunky look for choosing this race. </p> <blockquote><em>I'm trying something new with my post, which is writing about my gaming time. I've been wanting to do this since my early days on Steemit but I can't because my PC's crippled. But now it could at least walk slowly with a cane. (What a terrible analogy).</em></blockquote> <center><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/045CuqS.png"/></p></center> <div class="pull-left"><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/QmLYjWV.png" width="473" height="342"/></p></div> <p>The game starts off with the player character overslept. Okay this game is so relatable to me right now, I only 20 seconds into it and am loving it already. It can be seen so clearly that the player character is a good person that almost everyone I met on the way is a friend. </p> <p>I freaking love how detailed this game is. Almost everything in its world could be reacted to, even the smallest things like a decorative lava lamp or a poster on the wall. Although not everything can be used, looking at what the character think of it is awesome. </p> <p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/1jiZX18.png" width="1180" height="552"/></p> <p>I find the different way the races' speak quite amusing. The Glitch talk like a not-so-modern robot, stating the emotion first then say the thought like, "Impressed. This tree is as old as the academy." and "Proud. I'm glad to be a part of the Protectorate." I assume it's some kind of accent(?)of each race. For a not-so-modern robot, it's impressive and mysterious how they can have feelings and emotions. </p> <center><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/045CuqS.png"/></p></center> <p>It's almost time for the ceremony to begin so--let's call the player character by his name--Rain get inside and ready to be a Protector. But then, out of nowhere Squidward attack the academy! </p> <p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/o6gX1Ye.png" width="1218" height="515"/></p> <p>I run away with the Matter Manipulator that look very similar to the plasma cutter from Dead Space. If I name myself Isaac Clarke at the beginning Necromorphs might as well popping out from the floor in front of me.</p> <div class="pull-right"><center><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/slYCJem.png" width="465" height="394"/> <sup><em><strong>Take that, Squidward! I hope that's your nose hair!</strong></em></sup></p></center></div> <p>I keep taking time to use the "investigate" tool to see if the character's reaction is different based on the situation. </p><p>And it's true, the character reaction fit the situation well, which is a lot more troubled. Devastated to see the Protectorate banner and fallen comrade.</p><br> <p>I fight my way and made it to my ship and fly into space immediately all by myself, leaving all my friends on Earth to be devoured by Krusty Krab employee. </p> <p>I personally find this part of the game to be not so good, because we could have save our friends or at least run away with one or two of them instead of alone without even thinking about them at all. Why I think of it that way is because by the look of the dialogues, they seems to be very close friends to the player character. But who know if there's a surprising story behind all this in the future. (There better be).</p> <center><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/045CuqS.png"/></p></center> <div class="pull-left"><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/tz9i4VO.png" width="482" height="369"/></p></div> <p>The exact time the Glitch were made and who built them is unknown. </p><p>But they were built and coded to simulate organic life and society, until something went wrong and caused the Glitch to stuck in medieval era civilization. </p><br> <p>But on my way to run away from the academy I found something (screenshot above) that looked like a hint. Could that be one of the Glitch creators?</p> <p>Glitch who got <em>glitched out</em> of their coding will become self-aware. While it sounds rather cool, this is considered a flaw among Glitch society, to live with self-determination. That makes it sounds a lot more cooler. You can stick to your code and sweep the house for eternity, I'll go explore the friggin galaxy.</p> <p>That's my quest in this game, to learn about my past while adventuring the universe to build a new civilization!
