I understand,  but at least they removed it.  I'm always nervous about that stuff.  Yet that does suck when you are trying to help someone and they take it the wrong way.   Nice post.   Though maybe next time edit the screen shot and cross out their name.  Actually scratch that I there is no next time.   Humans are human and very unpredictable lol :)

I totally agree !! This flagging for no reason at all of innocent people is getting out of hand !! At least read very carefully what exactly you are flagging before you do it !!! Flagging is a last resort in all cases !! Also a warning to someone first if its your first time dealing with it , is the the proper way to go ! Then if they keep doing it , and it better be warented , then maybe flag it !!! Take it easy and stop making enemies for no reason !!! Stay positive and have fun !! RELAX !!👍👍👍💕💕💕

We don't have it all figured out yet, I actually think it is a good thing that people are starting to experiment with flags and using their stake to encourage the type of usage we want to achieve.  Everyone has different tolerances for spam, both authors and curators are going to have to do some things wrong as figure this out.

Both sides should try to be patient with those who are truly trying to work in the best inter\sent of the platform.  It's also good we talk about it.

Totally agree, it often happens people mistake my valuable support they can find beneath their posts with spam. This can be attributed both to ignorance and malice that comes from jealousy that somebody could express some meaning in concise manner.

At least in this instance, the resolution was worked out in a civil manner.   I don't think the F4F (flag for flag) is any better than the F4F (follow for follow) tactic.  Retaliation isn't the answer, in most cases.   I haven't made enough friends to start making enemies yet lol.

I personally have not flagged anyone's content despite seeing a good bit of spam my first month here. Like you said,  leave it to the more experienced users with much more firepower and reputation.

I've seen a couple of pretty nasty flagging wars documented in other people's blogs and it's made me hold back and leave the flagging to the more experienced users. Things can get really heated and what ends up happening is both parties see their reputation suffer tremendously, especially if neither has much voting power or clout here.

The many users here who *have* devoted a lot of time and effort to policing the platform seem to be doing a fairly good job of it.

I've been working on a post similar to this one.  I agree completely that just because you don't like something, it doesn't mean someone else won't find it fabulous.  One man's poison is another man's pleasure.  We have the right to see, hear and read things even if other people think those things are garbage.  It is up to us to decide, not some censorious bâtard.  There is something called a 'mute button' - people should use it and not abuse the 'report' button.

Well, I wonder if he failed to look at your Avatar. It should have scared him off LOL. Upvote for upvote Galvin.

Hmm I haven't really seen a lot of flag spamming (other than flags on plagiarised content and copy/paste or spam comments). The only thing I noticed was the flagging on noganoo on random people's posts lately, which is just one man and his army of bots (no good ofcourse). I *have* seen plenty of flagging lately, but as I said, it was on plagiarised content, which flagged quite a bit of aswell. I have also seen some flagging on copy/paste comments (though not enough), which I also do. Heck, I even flag short comments (like *'Nice'*), when they are posted *right* after I release a blog, because no way they could have read my entire post within 10 seconds...

I'm happy people are using their flags more, because as far as I've seen, they are mostly used for good reason. The few mistakes are ofcourse unfortunate and I hope those can all  be solved normally.
