**Hi Guys... Here I am with a beautiful funny story, about how I felt it difficult to wear a Saree for the first time in my life!! 😂**

**This is about 45 years ago!... I was just fourteen and a half years old then, and was studying in my tenth grade... My father was the only bread winner in the family of 8 people, including my aged grand parents. Our financial status was not so good. So we children had limited clothes, just for our daily use.**

I was good in studies and I always stood first in my class. It was my last 'School day' or 'Annual - Day' that year in my school, as there was no eleventh standard in that school and we had to move to a different college for our +2 years of Pre - University education...

**So I started pleading my Dad for new clothes, for my School Day! Because of some problems it didn't become possible and my Mom consoled me with the idea of wearing a Saree, after choosing one from a good collection she had!!.**

Of course she had some beautiful sarees with her as all our distant relatives who came to visit our place and stayed at ours', used to gift her with a Saree most of the time!!.... But as she was always busy with her home and the work there, she had never even used so many of them... So I finally picked one rose color saree with sparkling zari work, and as I had already learned stitching, I stitched a beautiful matching color blouse too! But the problem was that.... I was too thin and was weighing just less than 35 kg(may be 33 or 34 kg), and so the saree looked much heavier on me!!😂

**Somehow I managed wearing it with the help of my Mom(She fixed half a dozen of safety pins to hold it in place!), and I proudly stepped in to my school finally!!...**

There were so many prizes waiting for me, as in our school we were getting prizes for individual subjects and then a separate General Proficiency Prize... As I told you earlier, I always used to bag all the first prizes and as I was thin, I could run very fast and there were so many prizes waiting for me in the sports category too!!

**I had to give a welcome speech too and after sometime the prize distribution started...!!**

But every time I went up and down the Dais, my Saree made me feel more and more uncomfortable and instead of enjoying those moments, I was becoming nervous about the fact that- the saree might get undrapped if I wear it for some more time!!....

**Luckily the school was nearby for our home and it was just less than 5 minutes walk. So I decided to go home quickly to change my clothes... So leaving all my prizes there in the hands of my friends, finally I went home almost running. As I didn't had any good clothes, I decided to wear my school uniform, and came back to my school as quickly as possible!!**

**Luckily I could manage to reach the Dais for the 'Thanks giving'  on time!!😂**

I am not having any photos of that day's as none of my classmates had owned any camera then... 

**So this is my experience of wearing a Saree, for the first time in my life!! And it makes me laugh a lot even now, every time whenever I feel like wearing a Saree! 😂😂😂**
