A venn showing Monsanto's overlap into government was one of the first diagrams I ever produced, so it's time to publish an update. There's been a focus over the past several years on glyphosate, an ingredient in Monsanto's herbicide, Roundup. Monsanto continues to defend its use and safety, as does <a href=https://www.epa.gov/ingredients-used-pesticide-products/glyphosate>the EPA, saying it can be safely used</a>.

But a new problem has surfaced regarding glyphosate. It's starting to show up in the vaccines the government mandates for our children. According to MIT Scientist, Dr. Stephanie Seneff, glyphosate may be showing up in these vaccines because the viruses used to make them are grown on gelatin. This gelatin, in turn, is derived from the ligaments of pigs that consume GMO feed contaminated with the glyphosate used near edible crops.

And althuogh the EPA assures us of its safety, the <a href=https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/widely-used-herbicide-linked-to-cancer/>World Health Organization announced in 2015 that it's a likely carcinogen</a>.

Why does Monsanto get a pass in mass producing these dangerous products? One answer is to look at how many Monsanto employees have also worked at the EPA, the FDA, and the USDA, as well as agricultural committees in the House and Senate.

In addition to the updated Monsanto venn, I'm also including a (Shadow)Venn to highlight Katharine Emerson, a Monsanto lobbyist who has never worked in government, herself, but her father, and then mother both held seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Jo Ann Emerson, Katharine's mother, served on the appropriations subcommittee that budgeted for the FDA and USDA. According to a 2012 article in the Washington Post, “In the period that Katharine Emerson has been on the [Monsanto lobbying] team, Monsanto has reported lobbying on two bills co-sponsored by Rep. Emerson and seven others that went through her committee and subcommittees.”

According to the ethics rules on lobbying passed back in 2007, there is no law against a child or parent lobbying a member of the U.S. House of Representatives; only spouses are prohibited from lobbying members of the House.
