I'm not so good at promoting things that are only half created, _I think a lesson in self belief may be hiding in that statement._ This is not the first time you have said this to me @stellabelle. I did a slothicorn sketch and a strange bag construction, and didn't submit it tagged, because I only felt they were preliminary doodles. 
Thank you for taking the time to comment, I know there is criteria for submitting and my post did not comply with that criteria, which is why I didn't tag it. I really do appreciate you stopping by.
I also wrote you a personal response a little while back to your [superpower post.](https://steemit.com/life/@girlbeforemirror/we-are-the-music-makers-and-we-are-the-dreamers-of-dreams) I image you get a lot of people dropping links for self promotion. This post was a genuine response to your lickable wallpaper, and the statement to the effect of, _I imagined I am Wonka not an oompa loompa._

Also in response to your community initiatives post, perhaps I was a little off track when identifying contests as community established projects. I do believe they are the stepping stone for new people to engage, especially those who don't initially understand the possibilities here. It can give them an opportunity to engage in a manner that is not overly confronting, and find instant gratification in the positive responses and support and rewards. The people attracted to these contests are generally not the type to spam a comment and up vote it, they are the people we want to keep.  
I have been on steemit for about 18 months. I would like to find a solid footing here, as my life has changed immensely. I have had a long and rewarding career, though now find myself unable to do the physical work I was doing. This forced change regardless of it's challenges has allowed me to return to my creative passions, and in a way my misadventure has put me back on track. My mind remains as vigilant as ever and I know that this forced change holds hidden possibilities for me. I mentioned @hopehuggs giving initiative @hopebank, in my response to the post about community promotion. I think this project has taken that next step, and in the direction of the idea of a gift economy. She has done this at a time of great personal upheaval in her own life. She is a mother who could have closed off her life for her young children bit instead she has chosen to be a heroine for her daughters, and show them that opportunity can arise from unexpected change. 
Like you she shares the less spoken of / less shiny side of life. Similarly she does this not to gain attention but in the hopes that her experience can assist others. 
She is currently running a series of posts as she heads for the Big 4 0. I have just crossed this milestone myself and am enjoying following her process towards shaping her next direction. Similarly to your superpower post, she also outlined the many diverse career paths that have lead her to her current mindset and goal of financial and emotional freedom.
