Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 05 : Silky Almond soup

I loved the product for this week .... Nuts ... here in Denmark though there are quite heavy taxes on nuts leaving them to be a very pricy product indeed ... but I did have some from the sale after Christmas ...

**Silky Almond Soup**

**Ingredients**
Almonds.... remove skin
Green Asparges
spring onions
challottes
Garlic
Parmasan cheese
bread crumbs
eggs
milk
double cream
seasoning  salt and pepper
butter and oil

remove skin from the almonds

sear shallots and garlic (whole clove we don't want it to overwhelm just a roasty hint)

add aspages, spring onion, water and milk ... simmer ....

roast a few of the almonds ... and grind

mix with freshly fine grated parmasan cheese and breadcrumbs... ready for crispyness

blend almonds with a bit of the liquid from your soup...

add the paste to the soup ....cook a bit more ... not too much ...you want the asparges green not brown ... but tender ...

using a handblender blend it smooth ... and then through a fine mesh sieve 
back on light heat and add double cream and season to taste ....

egg and crumb your asparges heads

fry them in a mix of oliveoil and butter ... we want extra flavor ....

drain them off and you are ready to plate ...

the soup is actually a light pastel green... quite beautiful ...

All that is left now is to dig in to this velvet heaven of a creamy Almond soup ... the crunch and sass of the asparges heads adds the finishing touch ....
This soup is very beautiful and the taste is superbe ... and it takes full use of the whole of your green asparges too ....

Hi i love the almond soup looks sooo delicious.When i was younger my granny use to say if i had one peeled almond a day, this would increase my brain power incredibly.I still dont know to this day if that was true but i always eat them.I have never tried them in a soup before and yours looks lovely.I love asparragas.I bet both go so well together as well.Really good recipe 👍👍

Thank you so much ... they go together so beautifully ... it is quite a wonderful dish ... almonds are also great for your skin elasticity so eating about 5 a day is quite good for your skin too ... and hopefully brainpower too

Hmm almond and asparagus...this must surely be magical when tasted my friend!
It's great to see how you use all of the asparagus in your dish!
Prices of nuts in general is so high in my country, and same as you when we have the end of year sale, we need to buy some stock!
