Today was largely uneventful, which is great for me, but probably a little boring for you. It was another spectacularly sunny day, with actual warmth to the sun and everything! I had to suffer through a bunch of paperwork in my office this morning, which always makes me sad when the day is so lovely. This is the view from my office window. It's really hard to concentrate on bookkeeping when this is going on outside.

My plan for the day was to pick up all the large dead limbs out of the woods so we can do a bonfire tomorrow. My favorite thing. A pretty decent wind kicked up, though, and I felt it would be safer if I stayed out of the woods so I don't get impaled by something dropping towards my head from fifty feet. I took pictures of daffodils instead, which have finally decided to grace me with their presence.

This morning, I discovered an unlikely friendship has developed between Trixie, the big dog, and Popeye, the one-eyed goose. The geese have never had much use for any of us. I adopted them as adults because their family was moving to Nevada and didn't want to take water birds to the desert. They were going to release them in the wild, which would have been a death sentence, so I brought them home, along with a duck who was raised with them and firmly believes he's a goose.

This is our sweet little Biscuit, who is showing her colors as a herd dog already. Today she was chasing all her brothers around the yard and nipping at their heels, just like a good herd dog should do! She's the only female out of the whole litter.

All in all, not a super exciting day, but it was nice to be outside with the critter family and not inside huddled by the wood stove. I'll close with a picture of Yoda when he was tiny. He's still a little clingy but seems to be recovered from whatever was going on.
