What is Default (50% / 50%) in Steemit post rewards?

In the rewards section when you are posting something you have three options. 

1. Power Up 100%
2. Default (50% / 50%)
3. Decline Payout

Hi there! I was just clicking through all of these links, but they seem to bring me back to this post. Am I doing something wrong? Would find a ton of value in your explanation as a brand new steemian (scared to publish my first blog post)!
