I got this lamp on BuyNothing and I had the chimney. It actually needs a straight chimney that the cover on the left fits over. I found one online and ordered it. But I think it looks pretty with the fancy one too.

It needed a narrow bulb, one that would fit through the chimney base opening. Our local hardware store had one that had a flicker feature.

The chimney I ordered came in but the upper OD size wasn’t what it had been listed as. So I managed to widen the opening on the shade so it fit loosely. This is what the lamp was supposed to look like.

I liked it better with the pretty chimney, so I stored the new chimney and shade.

Thursday morning we woke to white, which was a surprise as it was forecast for rain. My helper friend had 1½” and it was still coming down when he left home.

The work in the trench had been finished and my son had moved most of the dirt back in and tamped it down. I wanted to get the rest in and the sods down before the temps plummeted to 23F during the day on Friday. So my helper friend and I went out and got muddy and got the job done.

But before we went out the 3 of us ground up the fish from the catch made on Tuesday, packaged it and froze it. We got 3 weeks of animal protein for the layers, bringing it to mid April until we need more fish for them. The boats typically run around the first of April, so it’s a slim margin. My husband may go again at the end of January, if the boats are still running.
So that, and making enchiladas, was what we got done on Thursday.
