Hello steemians this is my own story for the supernatural writing contest organized by @jerrybanfield.
The 23rd of December 2012 is a day I will never forget in my life. Why? Because that day God saved me from ultimely death.
Prior to that very day, my Dad called me on phone to come home for the Christmas holiday and after a prolonged conversation I agreed to go back home because I had mixed feelings about going back home, it was quite a distance and I had a forth coming professional exam.
At some point in the conversation I told my dad I haven't done my laundry, I was tired all these chunk of excuse was to avoid travelling home not that I do not miss my family but I wasn't really moved to embark on any journey.
He told me to put the clothes in my bag and bring it home, that my sisters will do the laundry for me.
All my excuses where all abortive in his sight and reason.
So, I had to prepare myself to go back home in Edo state , Nigeria.
Ladies and gentlemen, I must say here that God is real! Getting to the park I entered the next available vehicle and on seating at the back seat I immediately felt uncomfortable, my instincts kept telling me to come down from the vehicle, I refused, I was a bit obstinate but at some point my spirit incessantly kept telling me something bad will happen at some point ; guess what, I was in a state of Dilemma knowing fully well the duration of the journey and the fact that the next available vehicle is not in good shape, hence it was been worked on by a team of engineers.
To cut the long story short, I came down from the vehicle, and boarded the one that was been repaired, eventually we left Port-Hacourt at about 11am against 7am .
Furthermore, on our way, I saw dead bodies with life 4 hours previously, everyone in the bus died.
I didn't know where the tears came from, very hot tears ran down my chin and I realized it could have just been me.
I kept crying and asking what I have done to deserve this kind of love.
Perhaps, you won't be reading this post today if I didn't hearken to God's voice.
I got home safely, shared the story with my family, we thanked God .
