'Programmable Dance' - New Original Music - Death by Adding Too Many Layers, Another Practice Run in Logic! Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough!

## This song started last night with a
really basic progression, in Track 1, and I slowly but surely began to layer more and more on top.  While I was adding stuff, I had a clear image of the original progression, and could hear it all the way through, but an interesting thing happened while listening to it with fresh ears today.  I realized that all the layering caused the original progression to get totally lost, and suddenly the song sounded completely different to me.  This is DEFINITELY  a good thing, as I realized my mistakes, and what I would need to do to make this more consistent and 'clear', so I'll probably be going back through tonight and seeing if I can accomplish that, ideally without removing any instruments, but rather just editing volume levels and EQs and such.

## We're in Fminor here, with
the progression below being what everything is built on top of.  When the lead melody (the second screenshot below, Track 14) comes in, the song feels a bit more coherent, as it clearly marks where the chord changes are happening, but before that, the floaty, delay heavy synths cause things to get a bit muddied.  Theres a point where the Vii chord is held over a barline, before resolving to the tonic halfway through, but that little move got COMPLETELY lost, particularly because the rhythm of the drums doesn't really fit with that part, and gives the feeling that things are just consistently rolling along.

## I'll definitely work on this more, and hopefully clear things up a bit, so next time you hear it, this will be a bit more of a complete song!  I'm going to wait on 'mastering' of any sort, so the next post will be the official 'demo'.  Stay tuned
