## I'm working on some new
song idea, and probably will wind up finishing my submission for the Splinterlands contest tonight, but in the mean time I figured we'd take a little trip back in time.  This song would've been from almost two years ago when I first started using Ableton on my own.  Previous to that, I had been jamming with my friend/neighbor Anthony on his copy, but was able to get Ableton 9 for myself.  I didn't know too much about it, so it's fun to listen to these older tunes and hear the stuff I was trying to work on.

## I think this initially
began as just the drums, trying to write a sort of minimal thing, but as I added the weird, dissonant synth, I realized it could be something cooler.  If I can find the original file, I would love to go back and fix this up using some of the newer instruments I have, particularly the drums.  The beat is actually pretty cool, but the hihat fills could sound a bit more realistic with better samples.  I also knew *nothing* about really mixing songs, and I can tell there are 0 EQs on any tracks here, so that'd be a nice thing to add to really bring out the various sounds.
