I began this journey riding the back of a really benificent Orca, reaping where I had not sown and I failed to apreciate the requirements for progress on Steemit until that privilege ended.

I now have an improved view of things and have to say, after reading some of the articles writen by Steemians who's lives have been changed by this platform, I find it quite magical that such an idea can generate such phenominal value for so many so easily.

Granted it appears to require a good deal of effort to really benefit through a high level of manifest interest in the wellbeing of others but if the effort were not required there would probably be no value.

This model is reminicent of the [Allegory_of_the_long_spoons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_long_spoons)  in which people dining with really long spoons are only able to eat if they feed each other. Lose yourself in the service of others and reap rich reweards.

What an amazing concept. That simply writing content, without authoring training, where the content need not even be your own, so long as you provide attribution and relate the salient concepts in a way which demonstrates your understanding and interest, can afford one an income, where for many in the world today, there simply are no other present apparent opportunities.

Steemit is certainly a ground breaking concept, a brilliant innovation and a worldwide phenomenon. 

As Steemit is based on a cryptocurrency and a forth generation token at that, it is almost certainly bound to be a hedge against inflation of fiat money and a haven in time of turmoil.

The recent appreciation of Steem, alongside Bitcoin and Etherium are both exciting and scary, exciting as the opportunity grows so quickly and scary as the implication may well be that the economies of the world, based on fiat currency are on the virge of a collapse, the magnitude of which has never been imagined let alone experienced.

This time is certainly a time of uncertainty. There are naturally those who see only darkness ahead, those who simply don't know what to expect and then there are those who see a bright future no matter what the circumstances.

Fortune seems to favour the latter and that is possibly the most important concept to take from this article. 

Although we have all heard it many times, how many actually internalise this concept and make it their world view, so that every action is infused with faith in the possible, the desireable and the fruits of commitment to vision and effort.

The mantras of the truly succesful are :

> Be positive 
> Have faith
> Establish a vision  
> Plan to succeed 
> Focus on your vison
> Work smart 
> Work hard 
> Never give up

I believe that embracing these concepts and embarking on this new adventure will bring many to a resurrection of hope, a renewed courage and a bountiful future as it so clear has for many.
