Welcome to the challenge today. I will be talking about Ripple (XRP), a coin that I’m holding presently.

XRP was founded as an OpenCoin in 2012 by Ripple Labs. Ripple Labs is a software company that is in charge of developing the XRP cryptocurrency. They also control the distribution of the ledger technology with a suit of payment protocols for a streamlined cross-border settlement for financial institutions.

XRP is a bridge currency that leverages Ripple’s liquidity and exchange product, xRapid, which provides financial institutions a medium for global value transfer between various fiat currencies. 

XRP ledger is known to be the open-source Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) which provides cryptographically secure, as well as verifiable settlement of the XRP currency.

**How I Came About XRP**
It was few months ago that my friend introduced me to XRP. Before then, I never heard of it before. He started telling me the potentials of the coin and how someone he knows had made a lot of profits by investing in it.

I got curious and decided to make some research on it. 

**What Made Me Invest in Ripple**

The price analysis got me excited. XRP has been on fire in terms of bullish market experienced by the coin. Recent analysis shows that within a week, it had a major lift-off from $0.32 to an all time high of $0.92, a percentage increase of about 300% on Coinbase.

XRP is currently trading at $0.52609 having gained over +4.12 % over the last 24 hours and about 136.7% in a week, thus making it a top performer.

The market cap for XRP stands at $29.3 billion, a figure gotten from a free float supply of 45.32 billion. There has been an XRP/USD restrategic movement ahead as a result of Flare Network’s airdrop, as XRP scan noted the number of accounts created on XRP Ledger.

The number of accounts created in just two days skyrocketed from 1,300 to 8,000. It could be recalled that Flare Network announced a Spark token airdrop for XRP holders based on XRP address snapshots.


**Future of Ripple**

The security of an asset is paramount to its adoption and sustainability. Ripple is both a network and a cryptocurrency. The Ripple platform is designed to accommodate fast and cheap transactions between users around the world.

Based on its simplicity and user friendly built in model, Ripple aims to rule international transactions globally.

Anyone can create their own currency on the Ripple platform through the use of RippleNet.

This is a network of institutions that provide payments, such as banks and other money service providers, which use Ripple developed solutions to facilitate payments globally.
