Reduced deep tendon reflexes

Sma hastası olan bebekler nefes almakta zorlandıkları için solunum cihazlarına bağlı bir yaşam sürmeleri gerekiyor. Beslenme ve yutmada zorluk yaşıyorlar. Başlarını tutmakta güçlük ve hareketlerinde kısıtlanma meydana geliyor. Belli bir aşamadan sonra kendi başlarına ayakta duramıyorlar. Sık solunum yolu enfeksiyonu ile birlikte öksürük tekrarlıyor. 

>Babies with SMA have difficulty breathing, so they need to live a life connected to breathing apparatus. They have difficulty feeding and swallowing. There's difficulty holding their heads and restrictions on their movements. They can't stand on their own after a certain stage. Cough repeats with frequent respiratory infection.

Sma hastası olan bir ailenin her dakika çocuğu ile ilgilenip, fizik tedavi hareketlerini yaptırması gerekiyor. Solunum cihazı alınıp düzenli bir şekilde bebeğin boğazına aspire yapılması bebek ve aile için aşırı yıpratıcı bir süreçtir. 

>A family with SMA needs to take care of their child every minute and get physical therapy. Taking a respirator and regularly aspirating into the baby's throat is an extremely debilitating process for the baby and the family.

Dileğim; yurt dışından bu kadar pahalıya ulaşılmaya çalışılan ilaçların ülkemizde Sma hastası bebeklere kolaylıkla ulaşması. Tüm bebeklerin bu acıdan özgürleşerek ailelerinin gözlerinin içine gülerek, sağlıkla bakabilmesini diliyorum. Ailelerin de bebeklerini kaybedecekleri güne kaç gün kaldı diye saymak yerine ,gelecek için güzel planlar yapmalarını niyet ediyorum. 
>My wish is that you will not be able to it is easy to reach babies with Sma in our country with drugs that are trying to reach such a cost from abroad. I wish that all babies can be freed from this pain and look their families in the eye with laughter and health. I intend for parents to make good plans for the future, rather than counting how many days are left before they lose their baby.
