Well I feel like one mans treasure might be another mans trash.  I also worry about someones bias moral decisions behind flagging that could be considered censorship.  Who is policing the flaggers?  Who are they and what makes their choices in content better than anyone elses?

These problems will always come up and many real content creators will leave the platform until it will be changed. Bur hope the best. @ocd is very useful and I love them but can it keep up with the amount of content?

Awesome post dude and you make some very very valid points on the flawed system in Steemit rewards - I struggle all the time with the platform operates - and as of late have settled only for curating and commenting.  I can make .25 SBD from a comment using the eSteem app quite often and if people respond and upvote it it often goes to .7 - $3 - I try to write useful engaging comments and the few minutes to write them as opposed to the hours for post do not compare in payout size at - unless I am blessed by a whale - my posts reach .10 if I'm lucky - been here as long as you bro -

So nice article, congrats! My comment by now sonds cheap:)) this is indeed a current problem of Steem and how people are using the platform. I find it sad when I read articles with 40+ votes and just 15 views... what did the rest of the people liked at that article, the title? How can one vote without even opening the article. I am aware of autovotes but this does just not seem right, and neither vote buying.

I like your post and feel the same way. Plenty of us do I guess, but sadly, we need most of the whales to feel this way to make any real difference.

That's what the Promote option is supposed to be for, but I'm guessing that's not nearly as popular as all of the vote buying stuff.

indeed sums up the current situation of steemit. no upvote bot no notice. sad. :(

The problem is developers chasing crypto unicorns with smart media tokens and hope for dump money to pour onto them after they release them. While the platform is deteriorating and blocker-level issues like unable to register new users get no attention.

The platform needs smart content managing system. Adaptive sorting algo when user downvote someone 2-3 times and never see that someone's content again could be a start.

This concerns me too. The way things are going, I think artificial accounts are likely to carry most of the reward weight, while quality human accounts are going to get the left leftovers when they wake up. Bots never sleep. Is steemit ever going to get an anti-bot post creation tool? Recaptcha or something else?

Totally agree! and by the way I do manual curation too and it's f***1n6 hard to do that job without  any help. But instead of lay we go on. So cool man... cause you kow how it feels. The possibility of curatino is a great feeling.  And by the way. What do you think about buying votes directly by bitshares for example?  Becasue it's a thin line between one thing and the other as I see. But I have no chance sometimes and when voting manually I have to do it in that way çause my SP sucks. So can make 7 or 8 votes about 4 dollars is the only way for me.

Great post and I totally agree. I tried the bot thing for instant gratification of my time spent but in the end it's like a one-night-stand, it feels empty. I'll stick with the mode you described and try to be satisfied with appreciating and creating great content. You set a great example.

While I do see a lot of spamming and copy pasta, I don't see those posts making a lot of money.  They are a problem, I agree, but  to me, the bigger problem is that you always see the same authors on the trending pages.  Always.  And when you look into their content it is usually good, but certainly not as good as some of the stuff you've read in the lower reaches of the category.  The problem is that you, as a single curator, have no effective means of bringing that obscure post to the top.  

I think we should explore a change to the algorithms used to determine the trending and hot categories...or even have steemit default to new, rather than trending.  That's my thoughts based solely on my own experience which deals mostly with the poetry section.

Why is renting out steam power even 'legal' on this system?
