59th International engineering fair (IEF) in Brno; 59. Mezinárodní strojírenský veletrh v Brně

IEF lasted from 9th to 13th of October in Brno, Czech Republic, and the event was very successful. There were over 1600 exhibitors from 32 countries and over 80 000 visitors. The most liked expositions were focused on robots and 3D printing technologies.

When this fair is held, prices in local hotels and restaurants are twice or three times higher than usual and the traffic in the whole city is collapsing.

Next year it will be 60th anniversary of IEF and it will be together with planned Re:publika, the exhibition dedicated to 100th anniversary of founding Czechoslovakia, biggest event of Brno Exhibition Center (BVV). The second named event has got over $4 000 000 budget and it is not sure whether city's and provincial authorities provide it.

letošní 59. ročník Mezinárodního strojírenského veletrhu je již za námi. Ukázalo se zde přes 1600 vystavovatelů z 32 zemí a přes 80 000 návštěvníků a jeho kvalita a návštěvnost jsou hodnoceny pozitivně.

S konáním akce jsou ovšem spojeny i nešvary. V době veletrhů hotely a restaurace zdražují své služby o 100 - 200%. Samozřejmě též kolabuje doprava v celém městě.

V příštím roce bude 60. výročí strojírenských veletrhů a na brněnském výstavišti to bude společně s výstavou Re:publika (k oslavě 100. výročí založení Československa) největší akce. Druhá jmenovaná výstava ale ještě nemá pokrytý 100 milionový rozpočet.
