<h4>//Ripple in a Pool//</h4>

COVID-19, the world is diverting resources to slow, freeze and eventually stop this virus through a battle of attrition. It’s a toiling few months of waiting, social distancing and anticipation of the next set of statistics across numerous countries. The allocation of resources however, is causing a ripple effect everywhere. I have often thought about this in the back of my mind, where resource begins to constrain there will be other areas that will be directly effected as they tumble down on society in a domino effect. I read an entry from sciencemag (link in source section below), it details how the coronavirus has made other very widespread diseases return in full force as immunisation campaigns have halted in their tracks as the world waits for the virus to reach its apex and descent. 

<h4>//Chain Consequences//</h4>

It would be interesting for analysts to begin to compile data around indirect deaths that were caused due to this pandemic. I highlight pandemic because that is what this virus has inflicted on the world, a state of emergency where the world is not immune. We cannot forget that for some parts of the world, immunity against other diseases are a work in progress and every day, lives are lost. The coronavirus directly freezes these efforts and the knock of effect is fatal for many. For some countries, response to COVID was to ensure that their health care systems would not collapse under pressure. Yet lockdowns, and missing resources to deal with the already rampant diseases are simply going to pile up over the weeks that are without any attention. 

<h4>//Post COVID Resourcing//</h4>

There are many analogies that one could come up to portray this building cause for concern, but either way it would seem that COVID-19 will cripple the health care systems in the months to come, both directly and indirectly. Strategizing an effective plan to deal with the forthcoming situation will be a difficult task and it remains to be seen just how far the damage left in the wake of coronavirus will be. I remain curious to see where resources will be deployed post pandemic and whether the same attention will be applied to countries that will now have to face huge disease influx after the virus has served its time. It’s good to see that scientists and various organisations are actively reviewing the situation but actions after COVID-19 will be turbulent to say the least.
