Hello my fellow stemians, today it is another interesting activity i got involved in with my fellow workmates.

We decided to first have a small walk to the communities around our work place and we met very interesting art of hand made crafts like the Beehives made out from bamboo materials. I met the best honey producer named Joseph; and we had a good conversation on how he succeeds in his work. He was able to tell us that the skill of bee hive making was got from his grandfather who was also a well famous producer in the same region, Joseph started while he was about fifteen years of age and with time he had to be able to pay some of his school fees for his education since his parents were not into his education so much.

He continued to tell us that he was able to also get all he has now from the honey production and finally married a Mufumbira lady from his own Bride wealth 9from honey). Now he is amongst those who are rich in the whole community. People have also started to copy him and doing the same which is bringing great development here.

At his home I got a traditional granary well built with the bamboo sticks, this reminded me of the one that my grandmother had at her home, and one day she sent me there to collect some cereals for cooking (it was late for dinner) and as I entered, it was in a total darkness so i could not see well, when I was trying to collect some to my basket, I touched something that resembled a hairly skin and on my scream, He was Mr. Cat hiding me, hahah.

These granaries were the very commonly built for food storage and each family at least would own one or two granaries. And they would be built close to the main house for easy reach in case of urgency. The whole compound would be fenced with the live fence materials for security against thieves, and in addition, they would live in a groups ie; extended family members would live close to each other.

Currently, these granaries are less compared to the early times because of the Western cultures however, some families with the old parents still have them in use.

After the community, we had to go for Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park where they usually say "Gold Meets Silver"

Meaning it is where the Golden Monkeys meet the SilverBack Gorilla since the park offers both experiences plus the Mountain hiking.

The smiling faces in masks are for me in a black mask, Phionah and JohnBosco who both are my work mates here. It was a time of selfies with the primates and the Photography.

Usually the walk can first take two to three hours before encountering these great and funny primates and you spend only one hour while tracking them, then you call it the day.

But the real truth is; It is a great memorable experience getting close to them and watching their checked funny faces while the Alpha male leads the group.

Usually, at first they tend to keep climbing up and down in funny ways and taking proper photography becomes hard, just I tried tooth and nail to capture them.

And sthey can come close to you and do the face to face encounter, I mean in just a few meters and this makes you feel appreciating nature.

This Male came close to my camera for a great pause and it was my first time so I had to get scared abit but my Ranger had to comfort me, hahah...

I loved these two for offering me these nice pauses for such great and nice Photography

On the way back after spending an hour with them in the jungle, we had to have our packed lunch in the jungle.

And on reaching back the briefing point, the Rangers had to congratulate us upon the experience.

It was worth the expected experience Indeed !!!
