## This is *not* one of those usual SOB stories you've been reading...
This is the true, uncomfortable reality I live in. - But I don't beg for handouts without giving something back. - Because I believe it's rude and selfish. Not to ask, but to ask for something without giving something back, no matter how desperate I am.

I am in dire need of help. I don't even have a working cell phone. I haven't paid my latest phone bill and I've been having a hard time finding new clients to generate enough income during the summer. - The truth is, that I always have a hard time during the summer to make enough money to pay for my living expenses.

I am a Full time Freelancer. I've been working online for the past 7 years and I love my work. - I also suffer from panic attacks, anxiety and depression, so working from home is truly fantastic and literally the best thing that could happen to me.

This is also one of the biggest reasons for me to aim for higher goals on Steemit. I want to become a well-known author and perhaps, at some point, make a full time living on here. - I want to become a full time blogger on Steemit, but I'll probably never stop working as a Freelancer. No matter how much I generate from Steemit.

That being said, every single summer is more or less the same. I don't generate enough money so I can afford to pay my bills and pay for my living expenses. - ***It's sad, but I blame no one besides myself.***

Even so, I still do everything I can to help others in need. - I put others before myself, because it's often easier to help others than to pull my own shit together.

I truly believe I've become a better person due to Steemit. I have become a better writer and I've also realized that there's no shame in sharing things from your *"darkest hours"* in life. - It's okay to be different. It's okay to have problems and issues. 

A year ago, I'd never share **anything** really personal about myself, because I've worked hard for the most part of my life, to uphold a facade. - I don't want people to look at me differently due to my personal issues or struggles. So instead of sharing these things with people around me, I worked hard to keep it to myself. Secretly.

However, I still don't share **everything** with **everyone**, because I still don't feel really comfortable doing that.. But because of Steemit and all the stories and people here, I've realized that it's okay to share things no matter where you come from. - I've seen so many good things on Steemit and I've never asked anyone directly for help, because I am not like that.

- This article is not different. - I still don't beg you to donate or to upvote this article with 100% of your power.

## This article is meant to share the truth.

I've been a member here for more than 1 year. (14 moons). I have gained more than 1200 followers and I've reached a reputation score of **65.7**. - I have worked my ass off to share superb articles to help our fellow minnows and to grow Steemit. I've worked hard to promote Steemit and I've brought in at least a handful of people. - I've made friends and I've also given myself a title on Steemit: **Support Pillar**.

I am a support pillar, both on Steemit and in life. - And I'm proud over the things I've accomplished. - I still work hard, and I will continue to put in tons of effort, just like I've been doing ever since I came here, because I truly believe in Steemit. - I see so much raw potential in Steemit and I truly believe Steemit have enough potential to become the next big thing. - ***But we need to work hard!***

A fellow Steemian is in dire need of help too. Just like so many others. - However, we cannot help everyone, which is also one of the biggest reason for me to never beg for help. Because it feels selfish. - That being said, I offer Resteems for the price of 1 Steem or 1 SBD, for a limited period of time. Until 26/8, when I'm about to finally go on a *"mini-vacation"* with some of my friends. It's basically the only thing I look forward to, from one year to another. - However, this year will be different, as I will give away Steemit merchandise on board the cruise. - And I do that due to the fact that I believe, in some way, that I owe Steemit. - I want to promote Steemit as much as possible because I believe Steemit can aid, assist and help other people. - In some way. - Perhaps not in terms of money, but in terms of other things. - ***We are a community and not a charity.*** - And that's why I want literally **everyone** to be here. Due to the community.

Steemit is a place where you **can** earn from your posts. - It's a fact. Anyone **can** earn money here. No matter if we're talking about cents or thousands of dollars. - ***And for that opportunity I am truly thankful.***

I wrote a post yesterday where I said that I feel discouraged due to different things, and I still feel discouraged... - But it's also due to the fact that I'm having a hard time. - My personal life doesn't work properly, and probably won't until the end of September. - Even so, I'm still here, working hard and putting in tons of effort. 

- ***I still haven't begged you for money.***

I still haven't asked you to donate me a couple of bucks so I can afford to buy a new cell phone. Heck, some of the most heavily invested whales on Steemit could basically buy me a new phone every single week, using their curation rewards alone. - I still don't beg, because I don't have it in me. - I am not like that, so I just can't allow myself to beg or ask for donations.

Above, I mentioned my Resteems. I offer Resteems for a limited period of time because that **could** help me to cover some of the expenses I have before the "steem-cruise" (mini-vacation). - But, the first 7 days, I'll share the income from the Resteems with a fellow Steemian, (venuspcs), because I know he is struggling too.

What I've come to realize, is the fact that most people seem to have a weird mindset when they first encounter Steemit.

Many of the people publish a pretty bad first article in beliefs and hopes of making hundreds of dollars. - Some of them are lucky and generate the money they've been longing for and others, most others, doesn't even earn a fraction of the money they somehow believe they deserve.

Personally, I've never been expecting any rewards at all. Especially not in terms of money. I've been sharing things for free on facebook, twitter and internet marketing forums for serveral years, so I continue to share things on Steemit without thoughts of money. - However, I've always had a glimmer of hope, because I know that you **can** get $-rewards.

### If I don't get lucky today, I might get lucky tomorrow, or the next day after that...

- I truly believe that you **can** and **will** be rewarded for the things you share, as long as you continue to share quality.

Some people will reap rewards faster than others and some people will have to work for months before seeing their first couple of dollars.. - But everyone **can** earn money, so I can't understand why people expect money from the get-go.

### Have we become selfish, money-whores because of Steemit?
Perhaps, in some way Steemit have changed some peoples mindset due to the really insane and crazy rewards we've seen from time to time... Or perhaps, it's because of all the good payouts we see daily. - Perhaps.

However, even with that in mind, we've also seen so many fantastic things on Steemit. We've seen people helping others. We've seen articles been upvoted to $5,000 ... $10,000... $20,000.. And even $30,000. - ***We have heart on Steemit.***

### This placed is filled with heart and that's also why it's filled with hope.

And that's also the reason for all these SOB stories. Once again though, this is **not** charity. This is a social media platform, where you **can** make money. - But this place is filled with so much heart and kindness so SOB stories will continue to flood the blockchain.

### One quick tip, before we end this article...
Think about what you can do **for** others before asking for help. - That will ensure to bring you better results.
