#REWARDPOOLRAPE - I AM GUILTY. - How To Benefit From Declined Payment posts.

## RewardPoolRape..

It's nasty and easy to spot.. - At least if you ask some of our *"rewardpool heroes"*. - I can spot some of these things too, even though I'm not a *"huge deal"* or am a person with great influence..

However, I am guilty. I rape the pool of rewards too. Even though I've never had a single thought of doing it. - That basically means, that I'm not doing it on purpose.

In this post, I will not pin-point you in the direction straight to an author who's eager to rape the reward pool or anything similar to it either. - **I won't do this, because it has no purpose.**

### Let's face the truth here, shall we?
Everyone is eager to make money. We all want a piece of the pie.

Steemit is the social media platform where you **can** make money.

> Vote, Blog & Earn.
- That's the motto.

We can see whales and established authors that usually get ~$500 on their posts doing 1 simple thing every now and then.. - They publish a post and choose *"Decline Payout"*.

- And that's one way of *"giving something back"*.

### However..
We can't see these sort of posts too often from others.. - ***And why is that?***

- It's obvious. Due to the potential money they can earn.

Don't get me wrong here... I'm not a saint. I want a big chunk of the pie too.

What I've come to realize during my time on Steemit, is the fact that I don't need to earn money on all my posts.. I don't even need the chance to make money on all my posts.. - ***And you know why?***

### Let me explain this..
We all know that exposure is vital. We all know that you'll need to attract eyeballs to get upvotes.. And upvotes equals money.

That being said.. If you publish 5 or 10 posts per day, or even more than that.. At different hours, it would be a superb way to get exposure. It's an experiment I've been doing myself since I started out on Steemit. - I've tried to figure out the best possible time to publish my posts..

- And believe me. I do recommend this approach to everyone.

However, if you post 10 posts per day, you could easily decline payout on 50% of the posts you publish.. Because those posts, will **still** get exposure.. - And even if you don't earn **MONEY** on these posts, you'll be able to get followers.


- And what do you think these followers will do next time you publish a post? 

You guessed it right. They will upvote you..
- So it's basically a win/win situation. You invest in your own success.

### And one more thing..
- While you're doing that.. You could also, just like what I've done in this post, include links to your previous posts. - If you're lucky, you'll get both followers **and** upvotes on your previous posts by doing that. - *Kind of cool, right?*

### Conclusion:

I won't publish 10 posts per day.. And if I do, I'll decline payout on most of them.. Not only because it could be seen as *"rewardpoolrape"*, but also to lead with good example. - I strive to encourage my readers. I strive to motivate them and to inspire them.. - But how can I do something like that if I don't lead them properly?

The only downfall to a growing number of followers and those we are following is that we see their posts less frequently.  For example, I rarely see some of my favorite authors' posts anymore because they are mixed in with a few hundred others in my feed, whereas when I was only following 100 users, their posts always caught my eye.

I hear you and that's a ***huge problem*** for all the people who *"follow for follow"*.. However, it's obviously a problem for other people too.. Especially since Steemit is growing and you'll automatically find people you want to follow. - That being said, I'd be cautious and most likely not follow someone for **one** good post either. No matter how good it was.

What I do myself, is first of all, to keep track on the amount of people I follow. Secondly, make sure to remember the *" really good ones"* before I start to follow a bunch of more people. This way, I make sure I'll be following people slowly but steadily. - That being said, at some point, I'll just have to follow 10,000 people, no matter how I do things.. But at that point, I'd probably use streemian for instance, and make sure I'll upvote people regularly, automatically. - That way, I won't have to bother finding those specific *"gems"* in my feed, and I can easily go back to steemd.com or similar to find the content I've been upvoting.

I haven't used any of the other Steem apps.  Steemit keeps me busy enough.  Besides, when I tried logging into Busy.org, it wouldn't accept my Steemit password.  I figured it would be all one in the same.

Good tips on selecting who to follow.  I've done that - followed someone for one good post - then had little interest in anything else they posted.  I hate to unfollow people, but sometimes that's what we need to do.

This is actually true. I had it easy when I followed 10 people, but now it's still less than 100 and can't follow up with all. 

Another way of reducing useless pool drain is to post less but better. I'll have to work on that, but will help followers to keep their feed clean from my junk :D

I wonder to contact people - not for big profit , but read a post written personally by the author , and as if in contact with it , miss it when you don't see any long posts you authors , and they are happy to learn you and starts fantastic communication , which is then at the memory gives positive emotions and are already formed subjects for future talk
