California mulls 'text tax' on mobile messages.

Nothing coming from the California legislature or bureaucrats should surprise us anymore. They have lost all contact with the idea that there might be something of their citizens that is fundamentally not the government's.

Since the left - which includes the majority of the CA government - thinks free speech silences the marginalised, I suggest we tax all utterances in order to provide subsidies to marginalised wannabee speechifiers to promote their voices.

The CPUC spokesman arguing that raising this tax would reduce the amount raised from voice services is at best, disingenuous. If that was going to happen they would be reducing that tax. But guess what? They aren't. I'll rephrase my first sentence...the CPUC spokesman is lying.
