But I was just thinking, in all my life, after reading many many books and seeing many many shows and movies, not once have I fantasized about being a cop. I was actually thinking about shows and just how many of them focus on outlaws, on "bad people". And why? Well, it's simple, really. Bad people are more interesting. Say what you will, but I'd watch a show about a drug dealer any day over a show about a cop. All the series I've ever truly enjoyed are about criminals. 

See, I don't get cop shows. NCIS or CSI or whatever the fuck those series are called. Seriously, what's the point? There's a case and they catch the bad guy and they're the good cops with the golden heart and the end. Next episode is exactly the fucking same. What's the appeal there?

And while we're on the subject, how many good cops with golden hearts do you think there really are out there? Now, drug dealers, I'm prepared to believe they exist. Smugglers, gun dealers, money launderers. I know these people exist and it's very likely (sadly) I'll never meet one, so obviously I like to watch shows about them, I like to be able to imagine I live in that world too. 

But cops? I've never in my life wanted to be a cop. Why? Well, mainly because rules and laws and orders are not really my style - I don't get military movies either. Some fat American cunt barking orders and making you jump through hoops just so you can take a bullet for the good ole country in the end. I don't see the appeal there, either. 

Another reason I don't like the idea of cops and cop shows is that the police is basically a very crooked organization. Shit, man, they're some of the biggest crooks out there.  I'm sure there are some cops with good hearts and honest intentions, I just don't think they get very far. See, crooked people sadly win, even in the police force. 

I mean, really, if push comes to shove and some calamity occurs, are you really waiting for the police to swoop in and save you? You'll be the first to get killed.  And if you bother to step outside of the MSM that tells you how great and trustworthy the police are, you'll see they're not all that great in this pre-calamity world either and you best stay the fuck away from them, as much as you can. But we're straying from the point. 

The point of this is really rather simple - are you one of those people who enjoys watching cop shows? Do you fantasize about being a cop?

Because that's what those shows are, basically, fantasy. It's a world and you're part of that world. An elaborate fantasy where you imagine yourself doing whatever the main characters are doing. So, it seems obvious to me that these people who watch episode after episode (and it's always dozens and hundreds of episodes, isn't it?) of some clever cop solving cases and winning at the end of the day wish that could be them. And my question is, why? What's the appeal?

You may be wondering what's the big deal, but most of these shows are clever propaganda. All those cop shows that tell you there are good, clever cops out there fighting for you? That's a very interesting 'trust us' message and it's coming from people who don't deserve trust. Not cops, I'm talking a bit beyond cops. So, why do you buy into that? 

*PS: The only cop show I've ever enjoyed was 'The Shield', come to think of it. And it was about crooked cops. They did drugs and a lot of other bad things and they stole. You know, more true to life.*
