### I don't have much to tell of my life before I gave my life to Jesus Christ but here is my testimony. 

I was just a young girl of 12 years old when my soul got saved. In those days (1974) I was still very innocent and was not involved in a lot of sin. I suppose the normal things like don't listening to your parents all the time, as I can well remember getting a hiding once in a blue moon. 

I was raised in a Christian home, my mom and dad took me to church and Sunday school from a very young age. So I grew up in the church. So in 1976 the Sunday school had a youth camp and I went. There I heard the message that I must give my life to Jesus.  I accepted the Lord and I know that I was very emotional as one of the "youth workers" was praying with me and comforting me. It was also the first time that a guy hugged and kissed me. Just look how cunning satan is, while I give my life to Jesus, this guy was over stepping the boundaries. 

That was the start of my Christian journey.  I am so grateful to the Lord for saving me at such young age so that I walk with Him almost my whole life. I did not have a very good self-esteem as I was a bit chubby and at school, there were some of the girls that was making fun of me because of that.  As that was the age of sexual awakening some of my friends were involved with their first boyfriend or girlfriend and I felt alone. So I pray to God to also send me a boyfriend. And so it happens that I met him on 17 July 1977. 

We fell in love immediately and I said that was the days of innocence, not like today's young people. He visited me for three months before he held my hand for the first time and the first kiss around 6 months. He went with me to church and youth camps although he was not as devoted to the Lord as I was. But we were inseparable, we visited every day after school and on weekends. If it was not for him, I would not have been the person I am today. He boosted my self-esteem by telling me each day that I was so beautiful and that he loved me so much. But going into such a deep relationship early in my life had its downfalls. 

My most treasured possession is my Bible. My mom and dad give me a new Bible when I turned 15. The verse that they write in front was Psalm 119:9 *How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.*

### My Bible is my light, my life and it is my workbook. God reveals Himself to me and speaks to me through His word, It gives me guidance, it comforts me and it teaches me new things every day.

About 2 years into our relationship, Johan (my late hubby) and I step over the line and we had sex. Since that happened, we tried to not succumb to our desires but we did every time. And I suffer because of it, firstly there was the stress of becoming pregnant and secondly, I did not want to sin. Lots of times after sex I would cry and be very sad about my inability to resist the temptation. That continued for years till we got married. I was 17 when I graduated from high school and I worked for one year while Johan was finishing his 2 years compulsory military service. The year I turned 19 we got married.  Only then could I freely enjoy our lovemaking without guilt and sadness. 

Why did I share this with you? To make the point that if you really committed your life to the Lord you won't be able to sin lightly. Like it was for me all that years, causing me much pain and sadness.  I just thank God that we did marry and that I was free from the guilt and shame. 

There were times in my life that I was not so near to God, but each time He had drawn me back. That is what I believe what is meant by once saved always saved! The bible says in John 10:27 *My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; **neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.***
