This is an attempt to type 1000 words about nothing. It could be a little over a thousand words or less. However, that’s not the point. The point of this introduction is to let you know I’m making no promises. You could read to the end and find a lot to pounder on and probably some lessons to glean. Or you could come to the conclusion that it’s all a thousand words about nothing. Aright, let’s get started.

## Why Am I Doing This
One of the things I had to accept quite recently was that I needed a source of livelihood. For a little over twenty years, my parents have been responsible for my upkeep. Every time, I needed funds I only needed to place a call to them. At some point, I engaged in some freelance activities and made some cool bucks. But really, my parents have been the ones footing the bill.

It all began to crash some two years ago when my father lost his job. At that point, I had some awakening of sorts. I put in some effort into my freelancing but it didn’t last long as my parents still found a way to make my ends meet. Most naturally, I returned to my carefree lifestyle. 

Fast forward to the beginning of this year and I was already in debt. It turned out that as my siblings got older, my parents had more responsibilities. I couldn’t make the demands I used to make and have them met as quick as I was used to. Change was right behind me. I had two choices: to either buckle up and forge a path for myself or find myself caught in the merciless turbulence of change. I choose the former.

My many searches for a fulfilling source of income brought me to Steemit. I had actually opened a Steemit the previous year but I didn’t think much about it. Then January this year (2018), I met @tojukaka at a Cryptocurrency meetup. Many things were said there but what got me most was the fact that he made $100 on a single post. I was like WTF!!!

So here am I on Steemit. Why exactly am I writing this pointless essay? Because I need to write to make money on Steemit (at least, it’s the major may to make money here), hence this post. So I’m writing this post hoping someone would come around and give me some upvote.

## The Essay Proper
So this essay is all about nothing. Considering I’ve typed more than four hundred words already means it’s going well; I only need to add a little less than six hundred words.

You know, in a way, I could argue that I am writing about something. Yeah, I know i said I’m writing about nothing. But if someone asks, “What are you writing on?” i would reply: “I’m writing on nothing.” So you see, my nothing becomes something. Do you understand that? I have a feeling you do.

So my nothing is a thing; it’s something. At this point, you’re probably bored and wondering where this is all going to end. In fact, if you’ve read to this point, you deserve some accolades. I wonder if I could have read to this point.

## The End
I know I said it was going to be a thousand words. Well, it all ends here. Nah, I didn’t lie. Let me recap my introduction:

You know what I find interesting? When I typed that introduction, I didn’t except to attempt to end this soon. I was actually thinking of something higher than nine hundred and fifty words. Well, here we are.
