The founder of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, is calling out Microsoft over their UWP framework. He has been critical for some time with the direction that Microsoft has taken with Windows 10.  He velieves that the Universal Windows Platform is an attempt by Mircorosoft to monopolies a traditionally open platform. 

In a recent  interview in Edge Magazine, Tim was very direct in his language criticizing Microsoft. He claims that updates to Windows 20 could erode third party store apps like Steam. 

He feels that there is a risk that if everyone decides to develop under UWP that it will force the use of their Windows store. The question seems to be how Microsoft would bring down a system as huge as steam with an already established user base.  In the end that very strategy would end up closing the platform for developers and take on an approach that led Apple developers to grow much slower than PC developers and lead to the huge disparity in the desktop market.
