Scientistis have already been studying cannabis. Spain, which has essentially decriminalised and is a decent model, is gettting no attention. A lot of research has come from spain since the 90s. In 1998, Cristina Sanchez from Complutense in Madrid discovered that THC kills glioma (brain cancer cells). The work on that has been snowballing ever since and involves not just cancer, but epilepsy, HIV/AIDS, Parkinsons, Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, brain damage, addiction, liver chirrosis, diabetes, etc. The only thing legalisation may to do research is degrade the quality of cannabis sources to that of non-organic, low potency, governent cannabis with added toxins and carcinogens so that they can start to degrade the body of research which has already been well-established.
