THE POWER OF UNITY

Unity is a very crucial matter in the things of the Lord. Unity is not for the enemy and it is not for those that serve two masters but for those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he was sent by God the Father.

God expects everyone of us to stand for unity just as in the time of old when the apostles were all together with one accord. They received power to do exploit for God. They receive power for evangelism. Act 2:1, 8-9
In Ps 133:1-3 we are encouraged to dwell together in unity because it is good, it is pleasant, it is like precious ointment and is like dew.

1. Unity is good and so desirable.
2. It is pleasant because it helps peace prevails.
3. It is like precious ointment because it acts like oil and brings about ease in our relationships.
4. Like morning dew, unity brings about freshness and growth.

When the apostles came together in Acts 2:1-3 in one accord, their lives never remained the same again. Together in unity, they received the visitation of the Holy Spirit for Ministry. Together they were able to accomplish so much for God.

WHAT THE POWER OF UNITY CAN DO IN THE LIFE OF BELIEVERS

The power of unity brings promotion, love, and sharing among believers.
The power of unity brings increase /greatness to the church. Heaven will come down in our midst the way it happened on the day of pentecost. Acts 2:2
We will find favour with God and men (Act 2:46a)
and salvation of souls will occur on a daily basis (Act 2:4b).
It put diverse gifting and ministries (apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelist, pastors, healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues, etc) at the disposal of the church and all are considered important and useful to God. 1 Cor.12:12-31.
Submission to authority will be practiced easily when we are in one accord. 2 Tin. 1:2.
Genuine love will be expressed among the believers (1 John. 4:7-8).

In conclusion, unity is inevitable if peace and progress are to manifest in our homes, churches and nations.
