We need a bit of variety for not too much repetition in the crowd / battlefield, we will get very diverse soldiers fighting each others. Here i was a bit inspired by "for honor" for this helmet, here is how it turned out : ![unknown (18).png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQiG4ucN3WZC3w9Rf9K6sa2dA8GJfaoKhfRyaz8awJwC2/unknown%20(18).png) and the modelling steps coming right next : ![poak_0000_unknown (1).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSEU72VFF8RCggZyAhZ6aiHFz1HrDPZr87Kcmeo3FbhQA/poak_0000_unknown%20(1).png.jpg) Drawing the profile and depth / front lines / principal shape of the helmet allways with this edge extension method wich is one of the fastest i know. ![poak_0001_unknown (2).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdFkeboM2pgkZt8Y3Vh3aEJ3qXfsyXrMtEsyN8UWvv8Vc/poak_0001_unknown%20(2).png.jpg) Making edge loops that flows nicely across the rest of the max and following the natural topology between each polygons to close out the mask. ![poak_0002_unknown (3).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmfBEYrozT2bEaNvohwVSBB6M9qrMarGjYow6mSTqLy7Uy/poak_0002_unknown%20(3).png.jpg) Steps of progressively doing that, level by level / shift + mouse and multiple selection is allways your friend. ![poak_0003_unknown (4).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQme1YmPM2pHfBdbgvM1mbHF1zX3SYK11ANdZ5DAuvnh4am/poak_0003_unknown%20(4).png.jpg) Gotta find a way to connect some edges at the corners of the mask, hmm, i'm not sure i did the best job there, having sometimes 5 side polys at certain places, i don't think it's an issue anyway, it looks really smooth in the end. ![poak_0004_unknown (5).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVy5YM91bBYGYcaqSxgraGcWSb1ag6VWLwVzpCYmXn5ak/poak_0004_unknown%20(5).png.jpg) This part closed up, we can add some details left and right. ![poak_0007_unknown (8).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYyrSY8vaW6qWxgMKRPTgLhbFT3p7ssEu6CT64fLKo1jD/poak_0007_unknown%20(8).png.jpg) Having a border cornering all the side of the mask ( using beveling / extrude ) ![poak_0008_unknown (9).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVNfRyAE2FX9yv1UTwwMCJn4C79uAgMpP8xNGLKc6yJVi/poak_0008_unknown%20(9).png.jpg) Making holes and giving depth to the eye sockets. ![nuk_0000_unknown (10).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXu22hz8fBcyBx3ZmJwR2oqKeBrcSrNexFpgL9AZuNnSs/nuk_0000_unknown%20(10).png.jpg) Now for the helm / cranium part of the helmet. ![nuk_0001_unknown (11).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmf6P9yjY7HKyfUY9xtFuLeGo1T2LfmhWZ8rTvcBdDZHfs/nuk_0001_unknown%20(11).png.jpg) ![nuk_0002_unknown (12).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQme5ReASArHJ5cwdW9by1XdDj8xdrqfmbn29W8HkMg73cx/nuk_0002_unknown%20(12).png.jpg) Didn't encounter much of a problem until i reached this part here : ![nuk_0003_unknown (13).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZ6yQhUBT7ZoN3eWtR26GsbKx9YKyBcJkTXqvsp8zc1tE/nuk_0003_unknown%20(13).png.jpg) I should have simplified the model early on, now i will have to weld some vertex and edges together to simplify the topology. ![nuk_0004_unknown (14).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWsnZPiD6pjJqXwg3MkBy4BNmpA5oB6HvLZGtdUKDQzic/nuk_0004_unknown%20(14).png.jpg) Making a hole for the hinge that no one will see with the mask on the helmet anyway ^^ ![nuk_0005_unknown (15).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQi2E2FmaPTnnbbgFRoF5wia6L5sDKtyH2iq6PmagxX8k/nuk_0005_unknown%20(15).png.jpg) Finishing up the overall shape of the helm. ![nuk_0006_unknown (16).png.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeuAGJTyBJ9jEAvr9F8QgppHgSmx2DwRi4ZsaxWifKYRQ/nuk_0006_unknown%20(16).png.jpg) Aaaand it's done !
