<html> <p>The next illustration in the calendar is the Helm's Deep.</p> <p><img src="http://tolkienists.ru/_ph/26/200129065.jpg"/></p> <p>The seige of the Helm's Deep is my favorite part in the book, and favorite scene in the movie.</p> <p>At first the artists thought that they will add characters against the background, but then the final sketchdrawing of the Deep appeared and it became clear that with such point of view all the characters will be no bigger, then the ants. So brothers decided to limit the oicture only with the fortress:</p> <p><img src="https://scontent-frx5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18447418_452020358470464_6003277517788964971_n.jpg?oh=b297073a4c88ae9b4861fc5743f6c382&oe=59B251E4" width="960" height="780"/></p> <p>I wonder how would the illustration look if the artists chouse this version on the sketch above? May be it looks to me more logical cause I', more character artist myself, and empty backgrounds are hard to understand for me.
