Stained-glass imitation: a cat on the roof. Whole process and description inside:)
<html>
<p>So, now, when I finally have enough art materials to work with the stained-glass imitation I can do it at my home workshpo, and there's no need anymore to go somewhere where I can rent the materials:) Today I created the "Cat on the roof" stained-glass imitation, and I want to share the process with you.</p>
<p>But first of all let's go a bit threw art theory. Do you remember all these awesome different-colored windows in churches and mosques? How beautiful the light comes threw them, how every piece of glass playes with it's own color. So, these are real stained-glass, when small pieces of glass are fixed together with metal wire. This techni`ue is older then regular windows themselves:)</p>
<p>But if we talk about imitation - it's a different technique. We use solid glass to create art, we just make it look like created from lots of pieces. So, to create the illusion we need special contours to create outlines that will imitate the metal wire. And them we fill the rest of glass with special paint, transparent or not, to imitate the small pieces of glass.</p>
<p>Now let's go threw the creating process. As usual, final result first:</p>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/17992141_440989052906928_2289880491411305981_n.jpg?oh=0798061fc180895e0a580390453560c5&amp;oe=5984FC36" width="735" height="960"/></p>
<h3>What do we need for work:</h3>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>Photoframe (check out that it contains glass, not plastic)</strong></em></li>
  <li><em><strong>Special paints for glass</strong></em></li>
  <li><em><strong>Contours (different colors)</strong></em></li>
  <li><em><strong>Solvent (to sterilize the glass)</strong></em></li>
  <li><em><strong>A piece of paper (for sketch)</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18119038_440966632909170_6361956510546284836_n.jpg?oh=a55d36535a5835bd7445e82fd7d18383&amp;oe=597FEFAF" width="960" height="711"/></p>
<h1><strong>Let's start!</strong></h1>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>&nbsp;Remove the glass from the frame and wipe it off with solvent. Put the rest of frame away - we don't need it for the process.</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18119163_440966652909168_387645572057203887_n.jpg?oh=05403464bcd6a4b5d5e84e03ee218b8a&amp;oe=59992C13" width="960" height="711"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>Cut a piece of paper the same size as the glass is and create a sketchdrawing. The more lines it has - the more interesting it will look! You don't need a tone sketch, just a lineart. Then fix it behind the glass, so that it couldn't go away.</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18057820_440966666242500_4856967400351075910_n.jpg?oh=0d9cbc13b485c33a50ecd5ed88e650bc&amp;oe=59935C66" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>Have a piece of paper under your hand to avoid touching the glass. Take the contour and start loulining your countour:)</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18118822_440966682909165_1377203360588751177_n.jpg?oh=7bbe022fd12ede5c072b50a7887ef913&amp;oe=598A117F" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>You can use contours of different colors to create special effects:</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18010013_440966716242495_929184274807277347_n.jpg?oh=d9e5d807defdfb045e291efba342709b&amp;oe=5992641E" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>Move on, avoiding touching the glass and ready outlines - they need time to get dry:</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/17991874_440966732909160_287192205528871516_n.jpg?oh=7ee15211d93fbeaccf3efda6be3fd86b&amp;oe=5984547B" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>Now, when the outlines are done, it's time to start filling the segments with paint! There are two types of such paints: water soble and solvent soble. So, use the correct medium:)</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/17991815_440966746242492_2748271584891973209_n.jpg?oh=a618fe0b52523a68622a117ced4e2929&amp;oe=59798B3B" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>It the colors are close to each other - give them a bit time to get dry. Don't hurry, work slowly:</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18157676_440966759575824_9091810581616982838_n.jpg?oh=580b9e19ab4e75d6440f159b568bb72f&amp;oe=597C55FC" width="711" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>If needed - you can add more outlines when you finished with paints, creating different effects:</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><img src="https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18157336_440966792909154_3743783635562006411_n.jpg?oh=87cd69d9e93fb08fee61f038dc56bb7c&amp;oe=59919A58" width="718" height="960"/></p>
<ul>
  <li><em><strong>So, the final result again. It needs to get dry for a few days, if you whish - you also can put it to the owen on 100 degree for 30 minutes.</strong></em></li>
</ul>
