At 5000 m or above the person leaves behind his or her own identity. His name only remains where she was born, where he went to school or college, her workspace, the place where he went on his first date and few other places. But at 5000 m, she has no name of her own, no identity, no ambiguity, no worldly connection, no worries of network, no desire to read any book, and no wish to listen any song as well. 
At 5000 m, a new identity is formed for the next dimension where body is needed primarily for the soul to have a home and the rest of the work is done by subconscious or subtle mind. The desire to wear certain cloths and need to write the next great book is also gone. Often there is a long duration of silence and phase of not doing any act as such. 
At 5000 m, a lot change during these few minutes or hours: not only about the understanding of the self but everything else as well. A person approach life in a very naive and mindful perspective. He is aware of every feet he walks and she has an awareness of the source of her thoughts and ideas. 
That is why Himalayas always have been the place for seekers. Its monks or writers or philosophers or lost souls, all reach the mighty 5000 m to start the initiation of inner journey.
