<p class="e-p">The construction of facilities for the cultivation of therapeutic cannabis is still waiting in Kapuskasing. The much anticipated job creation project in the community has been delayed a few times since last year.</p>

<p class="e-p">Toronto-based CannAssist was to begin construction of the facility last year on land next to the airport. This land was donated by the municipality in exchange for a stake in the company.</p>
<p class="e-p">Previously, CannAssist had obtained authorization from Health Canada .</p>
<p class="e-p">According to Kapuskasing Mayor Dave Plourde, construction has been postponed until spring this year, and now in the fall, according to the latest news from the company.</p>

<p class="e-p">According to the mayor, funding issues for this multi-million dollar project would cause delays.</p>
<p class="e-p">He confirms that the company mentioned the possibility of building a larger than originally planned building.</p>
<p class="e-p">The therapeutic cannabis company would create about 100 full-time jobs in Kapuskasing, a city of nearly 8,500 people.</p>
