With National Coffee Day just around the corner, Canadians can actually grab a free coffee on their morning Timmies run. Tim Hortons has announced that they will be giving away free coffee or other goodies throughout National Coffee Day for those who use their Tims Rewards. On September 28 and 29 make sure to visit your nearest Tim Hortons location to earn some free goodies.

In a press release, Tim Hortons states that guests will be able to earn a free reward through the Tim Hortons mobile app on September 28 and 29 for National Coffee Day. Tim Hortons states that they will be giving away these free goodies as a way to thank their customers for their loyalty.

To get your free coffee or another treat, all you need to do is make sure that your Tims Rewards card is registered on the Tim Hortons app. After you've registered, all you have to do is make a purchase of 50 cents or more on the 28th or 29th to receive a free reward.

After your purchase, your free reward will appear in your app which you can then use to score yourself a free coffee! However, you can use your free reward for much more than just a coffee.

According to Tim Hortons, you can also get one free hot tea or baked good! So this offer isn't just limited to those coffee lovers out there.

Mike Hancock, Chief Operating Officer at Tim Hortons stated, "With over two billion cups of coffee sold every year and with 80 per cent of all Canadians visiting a Tim Hortons restaurant every month, we wanted to reward our loyal guests with something special on National Coffee Day."

Yet, it's important to note that Tim Hortons is only offering one free item per day per customer. Any customer who already has five rewards on their phone will not be eligible for this promotion.

If one free coffee isn't enough for you coffee lovers out there, Tim Hortons isn't the only free coffee giveaway that will be happening this month.

Krispy Kreme will also be giving away coffee and donuts all day on Sunday, September 29 in honour of National Coffee Day.
