Jesus was speaking to His disciples before His death and He said to them:

>**John 15:3  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.**

What the above means is that, the words of Jesus in the bible is intended to cleanse us on a daily basis. Remember that we are in the world that is filled with sin and all manner of filthiness and it is required that one remains holy and devoted because ”without holiness no man can see God“

>**Heb 12:14  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:**

Holiness is the nature of God and this nature can be inputted into us as we get closer to His words.  As we study and meditate on the words of God in the bible we are cleansed and made constantly clean because God’s words are Spirit and Life.

 >**John 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.**

 As we meditate on the scriptures we read, our spirit man is being revived and we receive the life of God to live above the sinful nature of the flesh. The devil knows this secret and that is the reason he (the devil) does all to make Christians stay away from reading the bible. The devil tries everything to keep the Christian too busy to have time for reading the bible.


I get to ask some of my friends when last they read their bible and you hear funny answers like: **I can’t remember when last I read the bible, I was too busy that I forgot to read, it was on Sunday in church, etc**, if we as Christians continue this way of leaving the bible then the devil will have more strength to oppress and depressed the believer.
