##### If you are, don't!
##### Make that change, you know it's the right choice.

I never knew what does **N.A.T.O** means until my eldest son taught me during my last trip back home. And I'm glad I learned it, although it was from a fourteen year old teenager boy. Things that we learn no matter how old or experienced we are!

## NO ACTION TALK ONLY

That's what it means, and today I made a decision not to be a **N.A.T.O.**

I've been having some superior<->subordinate challenge since I started work in my new company. Due to difference in leadership, culture, age and experience; conflicts arise quickly and it has come to a level that peers, subordinates and superiors also have noticed it. It is definitely not healthy for either party nor was it effective for the company.

I felt frustrated because I've never had to encounter such situation before; managing people and emotions were my least of issues in the past; after all I have always had excellent skills in people and bringing them to my side. But, in this situation, I failed miserably. I started to doubt myself and my capability in my skills.

After much thought and speaking to those close to me back home, I started to analyse myself. Maybe I have been too headstrong and aggressive; in this part of the world, such traits aren't really well received. I needed to go back to basics; back to school again and re-learn all those skills. 

To start all over, I took a leap of faith and took the first step.

### I said I'm sorry and that I ask for a fresh start.

For some, saying these words seemed harder than ever. At first it was hard to even consider saying it out loud but I knew I had to be the better and bigger person in this situation. If not, this conflict will have no end and it will only continue to frustrate everyone around us. No one will benefit from it and it will have no end.

We preach so many good things and we share about being a better person everyday; going to Sunday service and listening to the Father in front preach about how we should behave and yet we don't act when the situation is staring right in front of us. The words **N.A.T.O** stood staring at me and I knew at that moment, I must act!

> What's the worst that could happen? 
Yes, perhaps a negative respond and things didn't get resolved but at least I tried and my conscious is clear. I was brave to take the first step and not allow ego to overcome me.

##### THE RESULT...
Conflict resolved. The air is cleared. We agreed to talk things through. It is still a journey to gain each other's respects and trust but it's a first step for both of us. Everything starts with the first step and then the rest will follow suit eventually.

I'm really glad and proud of myself for making this first step.
