Apple Wine is Almost Ready to Bottle

# Homestead Apple Wine

I'm making a "cheap" wine using store bought apple juice and bread yeast.

I haven't tried it yet, but it sure smells delicious!

There is a fine sediment formed on the bottom, but the top is becoming crystal clear.  I figure a few more days to let it finish clearing and I'll begin the bottling process.

I was curious about that little glass doohicky on top of the jar; I assume that is a pressure release mechanism during fermentation? I remember trying my hand at making wine back when I was an alcoholic, and one of the dangers (a very real thing) was your jars exploding from the pressure, and you couldn't just leave the top open because of contamination?
I still find it interesting and wish you well, Mrs Ironshield and all the family as well.
