Paddy farming or commonly called paddy rice cultivation is one of the main agricultural enterprises in Indonesia. Rice in Indonesia is an important crop as a source of staple food of the Indonesian population of rice. There is nothing wrong in this blog I restate the rice paddy cultivation guide with the aim as a short guide. Happy reading Paddy farming (Oryza Sativa) Types of Plants The botanical classification of rice crops is as follows: Division: Spermatophyta Sub division: Angiospermae Class: Monotyledonae Family: Gramineae (Poaceae) Genus: Oryza Species: Oryza spp. There are 25 species of Oryza, known as O. sativa with two subspecies: Indica (paddy plumage) grown in Indonesia and Sinica (cere rice). Rice is distinguished into two types: dry rice (gogo) grown in upland and lowland rice in lowland areas requiring flooding. Terms of Growth Climate It grows in the tropics / subtropics at 45 degrees LU to 45 degrees LS with hot weather and high humidity with a 4 month rainy season. The average of good rainfall is 200 mm / month or 1500-2000 mm / year. In the lowland rice requires a height of 0-650 m above sea level with a temperature of 22-27 degrees C while on the plateau 650-1.500 m above sea level with a temperature of 19-23 degrees C. Rice plants require full sun shading without shade. The recommended inorganic fertilizer Urea = 250 kg / ha, SP36 = 100 kg / ha and KCl = 50 kg / ha. Urea fertilizer is given 2 times, ie at 3-4 weeks, 6-8 weeks after planting. Urea is propagated and trampled to set. TSP fertilizer is given one day before planting by propagating and immersing. KCl fertilizer is given 2 times that at the time of planting and when ahead of panicles.
