Lee, Nate, and John are bestfriends since middle school. They decided not to push through for college with their dreams of becoming recording artists as a boyband. Unlike any other boybands out there, they create their own songs, and they prefer not to be controlled by label bosses.
Still, just like any other boyband, they can sing and dance. The lads are fully aware regarding the stigma towards boybands so they wanted to innovate themselves, and be different from the others. They wanted to focus on talent, as they have great voices unlike other boybands which the vocally talented are those leading them, while others are just back-up singers, and also, back-up dancers.
The guys created a YouTube account, and named their band LNJ. They posted song covers, and their dance moves, which gained them a lot of following. As they reached millions of subscribers, they started to post their original songs.
A record label boss saw the guys on YouTube, and called other bosses to check them out. Eventually, they invited the guys in for a meeting, and the guys are very excited. As they got to the office, they're welcomed well, and were brought to the conference room.
One of the bosses has offered the guys, and presented their plan for the trio. He wanted Lee to lead the group, and they're planning to contact top songwriters to work with the group for their first album. They also wanted to push the guys for a world tour knowing their demography. The guys expressed their plans as well, and that the label's offers are in contrast with their initial plans. Eventually, they decided to decline the offer.
The guys decided to work independently, set up their own accounts in streaming platforms, and worked on their first album. They invested on equipments for themselves, since their YouTube videos earned them well. They had their own studio, had photo session for the album cover, and shot their own music video for their first single.
The final touches are done, and they released their first single. The song garnered millions of streams, they finally got the recognition they wanted. That translated to chart entry, and the song eventually entered the top 10. Their album was released, which eventually became multi-million seller.
The guys received offers for distribution from other record labels, but they declined them. They had a manager who's their singing coach in school then. It was followed by their second album, which also became successful, and got sponsorship to embark on concert tours.
Amidst their popularity, they guys feel exhausted. Nate got into controversy. While Lee had a girlfriend. John used to be the good guy, as in any group, such exists. Conflict between Nate and Lee arose for some reasons. Lee broke up with his girlfriend, and Nate became alcoholic.
It seems the guys are falling apart, and finally, John stood up and tried to talk with the guys. He initiated the conversation and appealed to talk calmly. Both sides has been able to express their sentiments. John, as the good guy, has been able to unite his friends again. They decided to take a hiatus after just two albums, take some time as friends for a vacation. Time came when they're ready to work on a new album, but they still preferred to stay as an indie boyband.
