 <p>Hanson are initially an independent band with their music released by independent recording company. They became popular through their mainstream debut album *Middle if Nowhere* which sold about 10 million copies. It was actually pushed by the success of their hit single *Mmmbop*.</p><p>Hanson was huge, and they were one of the top pop bands before, probably behind the Spice Girls, who are ruling the music world at that time. A year after the release of *Middle of Nowhere*, they released their indie record internationally, a live album, and holiday album.</p><p>After that, Hanson seemed unfelt. They seemed silent, and many has forgotten about them. That was the time when Britney Spears exploded to the music scene followed by Christina Aguilera, as well as boy bands Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, and even Latinos such as Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Enrique Iglesias.</p><p>Then in 2000, Hanson released the album *This Time Around*. It wasn't a huge hit, but the guys are enjoying their creative input as they shunned from their old teeny bopper sound, with more matured songs. It led the way for them to do more edgier records.</p>
