Claro works as a bus driver. He has a family with two children. His wife stays at home, and takes care of the family. What he is earning is enough for the family. That's why he is working so hard for them. 

On the bus, there's this man, Gary, who's a typical commuter. He came from the province which is poverty stricken. He went to the city to work in a BPO company, and sending part of his salary to support his family in the province. He is one of the passenger of the bus driven by Claro. 

Mary Jane is a single mother who works as a vendor. His husband died from cancer, and she has bo choice but to raise and support her four children by herself. That day, she is about to go home excited with foods ordered from the fast food chain which is the favorite of her children. She is also passenger of the bus. 

Jenny is currently pregnant for 8 months. It means she would be delivering her child in a month. She is with her husband, Jeff. Their car is not allowed to travel because of color coding. Wanted to take the taxi, but opted for the bus ride for no reasons. They were passengers of that bus too.

Carla is a senior college student, and about to graduate. She just received a news that she's a Cum Laude. Excited to go home to tell the good news to her parents. Yes, she can message them, but she wanted to tell them personally. She is also a passenger of the bus.

Each of the passenger of the bus has their own story. Either they will visit someone at that time, or others are just excited to go home with their family. Claro is a safe driver because he doesn't want to compromise the lives of his passengers and himself, as well as his job.

Elmer got on the bus. He was a former policeman, but was removed because he was framed by his co-police. Being a good cop, he received lots of awards, which made his workmates jealous of his achievements. Depressed on his removal from his job, he set a plan that day. As he rode the bus, he hostaged the passengers. They are all freaking out, but the police told them to cooperate. He just want to express his grievances to the authority.

It was a long negotiation between him and the authority. They are talking through the phone, and as much as possible, the cops should not fire on them. Otherwise, it will compromise the lives of the passengers. Gary was sitting on his seat with hands on his ears. Jeff is hugging her wife and comforted her while crying. Mary Jane and Carla, who are seatmates hugged each other. 

Claro was asked to open the television, and saw how the media has shown the events and the plans of the police. Angered about what he saw he gunfired with his armalite, which hit Claro first, and other passengers got hit, including Mary Jane, Carla, and Gary. Jeff was also hit while hugging his wife. Cops pursued with their plans, and they are able to take control of the bus and hostage taker.

Elmer was caught, but it was too late. Only three passengers are alive, which includes Jenny, who was brought to the hospital because of the trauma, and being pregnant. She could've a happy family, but his husband is gone. Carla should have had a bright future. Mary Jane hasn't been able to bring the foods to the family. Gary's unable to send the money to his family. While Claro's family lost a father, a husband, and a breadwinner.

Elmer's actions are unacceptable. His co-workers did wrong, but his actions doesn't make him right. The negotiations didn't go well on the part of the police. The media can also be blamed for their irresponsibility. They are all wrong as it compromised the lives of people who only wants to have a happy family.
