Great review! I've of course been aware of this film for quite some time, but I've never seen it. And weren't there a gillion sequels?

Yeah, there were four direct-to-video sequels. Only *The Prophecy II* appeared on LaserDisc, and it was also the only other one with Walken in it. I own it, and I'm sure I'll get around to watching/reviewing it eventually. Got some other fun ones in the works before that one though. Ones that should also tickle your fancy, @janenightshade... a little Alan Rickman, a little Madeline Stowe... :)
