Scientists: Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed by "Superheated Blast From The Skies"

Ha! I love these kinds of stories. Science is confirming the accuracy of Biblical events on an almost daily basis and this is another one.. although they aren't admitting to that part of their discovery, of course.

Howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas! 

What an interesting story I found today. Science News reported that an archaeologist from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque has concluded that a **“superheated blast from the skies destroyed cities and farming settlements north of the Dead Sea around 3,700 years ago.”**

Hey that's exactly what the Bible says happened when God took out those cities with fire and brimstone from above, imagine that!

They found **“radiocarbon dating and unearthed minerals that instantly crystallized at high temperatures indicate a massive airburst caused by a meteor that exploded in the atmosphere, instantaneously destroyed civilization in a 25-kilometer-wide circular plain called Middle Ghor."**

Excavations indicate that the area was occupied for 2,500 years before a sudden collapse near the end of the Bronze Age. The university has been researching the location for 10 years and radiocarbon dating has found that the mud brick walls instantly vaporized, leaving only the foundations.

**“What’s more, the outer layers of many pieces of pottery from the same time period show signs of having melted into glass. Zircon crystals in those glassy coats formed within one second at extremely high temperatures, perhaps as hot as the SURFACE OF THE SUN."** researchers said. 

Whoa...that's some serious heat. I wonder how that could happen?

Also, this..**"And tiny bits of rock were found on pottery fragments, suggesting it “rained down.”** 

The researchers concluded that the annihilation was "**most likely caused by a meteoritic airburst event.”**  And of course, this event only happened to those two cities and immediate area, precisely the way the Bible describes it.

Once again science confirms the accuracy of the Bible which is a constant occurence these days. These ARE the days of increased knowledge spoken of in the Bible afterall!

howdy angiemitchell! two months ago! lol...well better late than never! The WWE is the professional wrestling organization, the one with the crazy big guys flying all over the ring acting like they're beating people up with all the theatrics and play acting, it's huge over here with the lower middle class I guess you could say, or the typical redneck! lol anyway that's what makes that joke funny is because it's pretty much true, just exaggerated. lol.

Interesting. Although not religious I see many indicators within the bible regarding events like this....

Most produce the required data that will ensure their continued funding. Science has been hijacked for centuries and 'scientific' types are the most blinkered of all people in my experience. People have been herded to one side (scientific left brain) or the other (religious right brain) to ensure division and a lack of joined up thinking (whole brain unity and awareness).

I saw that and found it interesting too.   I agree, more and more unveiling is happening.  What a time to be alive.  I also find it interesting there has been so much coming out of that exact area....more scrolls recently found....fresh water at the Dead Sea....very very interesting.

A blast was from the wrath of god on the sinners ...or a meteor?
Seems I read a long time ago they found a pile of salt...Lot’s wife who was turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back at Sodom.

Yes there are many natural events that God uses so people question if if was God but when the time and location are exact and God describes it before hand then it becomes and obvious fact. I wouldn't be surprised about finding the salt pile!

Interesting stuff. I wonder if the sequencing of this event has not been purposely rearranged to make it seem as though this area was wiped out by God. 
If the  meteoritic airburst event occured first and then was attributed to God, now that may be considered fake news.😁😁😁.
But, if he had called for this destruction and others were aware of his proclamations before the event, then that is a whole different story.

Howdy sir bigsweed! haha, the original fake news story! lol. Well sir, most big events were prophecied hundreds or even thousands of years in advance and hundreds have been fulfilled to the letter precisely as foretold but in this case the warning and punishment were fairly close together so it's harder to judge in that regard but just the fact that this extremely unusual event happened to a small, specific location as the Bible details it..that fact is hard to get around.

Howdy Janton, This is very interesting. I used to watch similar topics on Discovery Bible. There is definitely more and more evidence coming to light that stories in Bible are based on true events.

Excellent read @janton. When I was blessed to live in Israel we went to Sodom/Gomorrah. It is a remarkable yet chilling experience. Everything is a strange yellow dust colour. You can still pick up tiny sulfur stones. And yes they burn when a match is put to them. Apparently tourists are advised not to take home souvenirs. Some don't listen. If you hear the tragedy that follows them you will understand that the curse those cities brought on themselves still remains in the sulfur that remains as a warning

No Sir! Even a regular desert has some vegetation. This is nothing. Just the wierd yellowish dust and big pyramid type mounds of the compacted yellow. The archeologists actually explain how a lot of the formations were probably buildings. So it wasn't only Lot's wife that turned to salt....

The next one is coming much sooner than that sir blanchy, sorry! We probably won't be around to see it though, not sure. Time is speeding up and many prophecies are being fulfilled which lead up to the final events. The Biblical prophets are super accurate, it's just men's interpretation that makes it difficult concerning the times that events willl occur. dang, that's too serious of a response from me, sorry, fresh out of humor on this topic! lol.
