Sakura Flavored Danish At Doutor

<p>This was a sakura flavored danish I had recently at Doutor (a large coffee chain in Japan). It tasted more like a berry than what I imagine a sakura petal might taste like. I'm not sure exactly how they flavored it, but I do know it was a mixture of a berry and anko, japanese red bean.</p>
<p>It tasted ok, but a bit dry. I wouldn't order it again.</p>

<p>Lately in Japan there has been an emphasis on native Japanese flavors, from matcha to sakura. I imagine this summer we will see a melon flavor trend which would fit in with the former two flavors mentioned. It's starting to get hot and melons are a traditional way to cool down during the summer. We'll see.</p>
