One of our favorite things to do (because we live in Minnesota and you either have to embrace winter or move away) is to go walking on snowy trails snd ice covered lakes.

This is the lake we walk on the most. It’s quite near our house.

In this picture I am fully dressed for the cold, standing on the lake, leaning against the end of someone’s dock, where in winter there would be boats. The owl, in case you were wondering, is not real. It’s a decoy designed to keep ducks, geese snd seagulls from setting up camp on their dock and making a mess with their bird poop.

Of course we had to do a selfie too.

Here are a few pictures of activities on the lake. These people are having an ad hoc doggy play date.

And here’s a man tending to a skating rink with a torch. I have no idea what the goal is there.

And of course there are the huts that the ice fishermen put up.

Here’s an island in the middle of the lake. In summer you can only get to it by boat.

And here’s a parks snd recreation gazebo. In summer people can get some shade there, and where I’m standing to take the picture is the swimming area.
