I am FLAWSOME and so is EVERYBODY else!

I am the youngest of four siblings and also the only girl, which essentially means I was subjected to ludicrously high levels of teasing my entire life lol – in fact, I would go as far as to say that I am slightly emotionally scarred from it. *(Cough...most definitely)* -  Haha… It would definitely explain my rapid outbursts of temper when getting teased by anyone as an adult lol *(grrrrr!)* My three older brothers were ***MASTER*** teasers and needless to say they derived the utmost pleasure the greater my annoyance. Lol! One of the MANY things I can recall them saying to me on a frequent basis was… ***“Jayne, when God was giving out looks, you were reading books and you asked for a horror”***  - Got to love big brothers hey… hahaha!!! ***Sigh…*** the “good ‘ol days” hehe!

In my younger years, and still to a degree today, I hold a relative amount of insecurity about my physical appearance, but I cannot blame my brothers entirely… although Ill allocate a healthy percentage of accountability to them ;) *(Just kidding guys)* - LUFFF YOU!!!! … But seriously… as ***ANY*** red headed woman will know WELL, we are generally the victims of all kinds of mockery (largely from guys) throughout school years…  Carrot head, Ginger, Freckle Face and the list goes on… And then… in an almost miraculous change, as you enter adulthood… the men somehow cannot get enough of us red heads. Lol – Karma I tell you... KARMA! ;)

My point being that I have been called all kinds of names, teased beyond repair, belittled and mocked relentlessly over the years – I mean heck, just the other day I was told that I am ***MAD!*** *(Cannot say I was entirely shocked)* - I am most certainly not your "run of the mill" individual... lol – but mad or not – what I can attest to, without a shadow of a doubt... is that I have ISSSUES, and it is not like I have ever tried to HIDE anything ;) *(Insert crazy laugh here)*

I am not always socially appropriate *(in fact mostly not)*, I am not always going say or do the right things either... although I have managed to filter that aspect somewhat over the years… it must be an age thing lol! So, I have issues, but I have some rather exciting ***NEWS*** ... WE ALL DO! Yip! Sorry to have to break it to *y'all* that have been living in a bubble... :) And do you know what else?! – It is PRECISELY all these ***QUIRKS*** and “ISSUES” which have moulded us into the absolutely, ***one of a kind***, AMAZING individuals that we are.

I have come to realise that no matter how I am potentially ***"branded"*** from this point forward, I am going to have to graciously decline such offers... as I have decided that I am 110% FLAWSOME! - And so is EVERYBODY ELSE!

Jayne, you have to admit ... that was a pretty good line.

I have told my daughter that, with respect to boys, there are three options:

1.) If they like you, they will tease you **(The Good)**;

2.) If they don't like you, they will tease you **(The Bad)**; and

3.) If you mean nothing to them ... they'll ignore your existence **(The Ugly)**.

As a girl, it is your responsibility to determine which is which and react accordingly.

Your brothers teased you *(and my guess is that it was because of Option 1)* and, in doing so, they toughened you up. They made you stronger. Which was good because life will, eventually, hit you in a way that will require all the strength you can muster.

Take a look around at all the whiners and moaners in today's society. *"Accept me for what I am." "Accept My Truths."* Trigger Warnings. Safe Spaces. Microaggressions.

Wussies about to get wrecked.

The social role of your brothers, built into their genetic code, was to:

1.) Kick the shit out of anyone who actually harmed you, or threatened to harm you; and

2.) Toughen you up so that it was harder to harm you in the first place.

And it worked.

Though petite you may be, there are plenty of Steemitbloggers that jump when you roar. And probably a few teachers as well. And so, despite your size, you've learned to punch far in excess of your weight class.

You're scrappy *(it's not the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog).*

Have you ever observed how males "trash-talk" one another?

They incessantly insult their best friends ... but in a way that is so hyperbolic that no one could possibly believe they were being serious. Go back and look at that quote ... it's dripping with hyperbole.

But note that they never trash-talk someone they actually hate? If they did, it would mean instant war *(a fist fight).* And note that they don't do it to strangers either. It's only guys that they like.

Three examples of trash-talking ... **_with my friends_** ... the men and women **_I like best_** on Steemit.

I'm teasing them ... *but in a way that signals to the world that I like them.*

Guys are not girls. We don't go around hugging and kissing one another ... for if we did, that would make us ... *girls!* I'm sure you understand enough about the male ego to understand why THAT cannot happen. And so our *social grooming* tends to be a bit more *robust.*

We live in a hyper-sensitized society where many are just looking to find examples of how they can claim to be victims. **This is weakness** and it will not serve them well when dealing with the *"slings and arrows of life's outrageous fortunes."*

If I were you, I'd thank your brothers for their childhood torments ... then punch them as hard as you can, as proof of their Return On Investment .

They'll understand. They're guys.

Flawsome and Namas'cray - too funny!

I find that the off-beat people are the very best kind. Stay different, stay wild. There's something about brothers that produces fun women. I have two brothers myself and while I don't recall them teasing me, they always made these Boys Clubs that I was desperate to be a part of. So my older brother would set ridiculous criteria for me to join the club. I'd do it every time. I almost died at least once.

But I got in.
